Roseville, Minn. – Twin Cities families who need help making Christmas bright for their children are invited to sign up for assistance from The Salvation Army, beginning Monday, Nov. 7.
Toy Shop registration runs through Dec. 2 or until all the spots are filled. Parents with children ages 14 and under can call 651-746-3595 or register online.
This year, The Salvation Army expects to serve about 6,000 families and as many as 18,000 kids in the 10-county metro area.
“Christmas is a blessed time of the year, but for families that are struggling financially, it can also be stressful,” said Lt. Col. Lonneal Richardson, leader of The Salvation Army Northern Division. “Toy Shop is an opportunity for us to ease that burden and put the focus back on the true meaning of the season.”
The toys and gifts will be distributed Dec. 16–22 in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Dakota County, Anoka County, and Stillwater. Parents will be notified when and where they can go pick up their toys.
The Salvation Army has been helping make Christmas merry for local families through Toy Shop for more than 50 years.
If you’d like to help, drop off a new, unwrapped toy at any Salvation Army Worship and Service Center in the metro area, or at Salvation Army headquarters at 2445 Prior Ave. N. in Roseville. This year, we particularly need gifts for children ages 7-14. You can also make a financial donation to Toy Shop online.
