Giving Hearts Day raises more than $110,000
It’s the greatest nonprofit fundraising day of the year in North Dakota and for the first time ever, all six Salvation Army locations in the state participated in Giving Hearts Day on Thursday, Feb. 11. It resulted in donations of $110,849 to The Salvation Army across North Dakota.
By the numbers
Every dollar donated will be used to fund vital Salvation Army services in six North Dakota cities and their surrounding communities. These services include food programs, rent and utility assistance, emergency lodging, disaster support, emotional and spiritual care, seasonal assistance and much more.
Here’s how much was raised for each of our North Dakota Salvation Army locations:
- Bismarck – $16,330
- Fargo – $58,232
- Grand Forks – $11,700
- Jamestown – $10,902
- Minot – $6,480
- Williston – $7,205
“Thank you to all who donated and participated in this great day of giving,” said Lt. Col. Robert Thomson, Salvation Army Northern Division leader. “It’s amazing to see so many nonprofit groups come together on one day to help do the most good in North Dakota.”
In total, people donated $8,272,489 to more than 300 hundred participating nonprofits, shattering the goal to raise at least $7 million. In 2015, the total donated was just shy of the $7 million mark.
