Free Thanksgiving meals, open to the public and the media
Roseville, Minn. – The Salvation Army is offering a free, traditional Thanksgiving dinner to the public at the following times and locations. The media is invited to attend. Please contact Julie Borgen, Twin Cities Media Relations Director
Early Thanksgiving, Wednesday, Nov. 25
- 1019 Payne Ave., St. Paul, 11:45 a.m.- 12:45 p.m.
- 401 E. 7th Street, St. Paul, 7:30 a.m.- 8:30 a.m., traditional dinner during the breakfast service.
- Media please note: photo and video opportunities limited to volunteers and staff at this location, please do not shoot photos or video of guests here. It is fine to speak with guests at the other locations.
Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26
- 1604 E. Lake Street, Minneapolis, noon – 2 p.m., meal provided by The Blue Door Pub
- The Harbor Light Center, 1010 Currie Ave., Minneapolis, 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The Salvation Army expects to serve about 500 people at The Harbor Light Center on Thanksgiving Day. Winter coats will also be given to anyone who needs one from 11:30 a.m.- 1 p.m. TV’s will be tuned to NFL and college football games.
- A separate, private meal will be served on the sixth floor to the women who live at The Harbor Light Center by The Women of the Minnesota Vikings, including Greta Warren. Media is invited to this event, please contact Annette Bauer, 651-238-8210.
