Roseville, Minn.  The Salvation Army is counting down the days left in the Christmas fundraising season, and now is the perfect time to make your donation.

All donations made to the Twin Cities Salvation Army will be tripled, up to $1.5 million dollars on Dec. 22-23.  That means a $5 donation is worth $15, $100 is worth $300, and so on.

The match is thanks to a group of individual and corporate donors, including $250,000 from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation. A long-time supporter of The Salvation Army, Schulze founded Best Buy and grew up in St. Paul. The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation was established in 2004.

“This match comes at a critical time for The Salvation Army,” said Lt. Col. Lonneal Richardson, leader of The Salvation Army Northern Division. “We pray it will inspire everyone to give as generously as they can and help us make our fundraising goal.”

The Twin Cities Salvation Army must raise another $5 million before Dec. 31 in order to reach its overall Christmas fundraising goal of $11.7 million.

How to have your donation tripled on Dec. 22-23:

  • Donate online before midnight on Saturday
  • Put money in a red kettle anywhere in the metro area
  • Call 651-746-3496 or 1-800-SAL-ARMY

Poverty is an everyday battle. People experiencing poverty are not without hope – their lives are just harder than they should be. The Salvation Army is helping to make their lives a little easier, thanks to your gifts of time and money. Join us in the fight for good by giving online or donating at a red kettle, becoming a volunteer bell ringer, or recruiting your own army as a fundraiser on RedKettleReason.org.
