Army raises $116,000 in N.D. on Giving Hearts Day
The Salvation Army’s six locations in North Dakota raised a total of $116,000 on Feb. 8 during the state’s biggest day of the year for charitable giving – Giving Hearts Day.
The Salvation Army in Fargo raised the most money of all the locations – $70,500. The remaining totals include:
- Bismarck: $13,100
- Jamestown: $8,500
- Grand Forks: $11,500
- Minot: $5,000
- Williston: $7,400
All of the dollar amounts listed above include matching dollars that were offered as an extra incentive for North Dakotans to give.
The Salvation Army will use donations given on Giving Hearts Day to provide food, shelter, clothing, and other critical services for people and families experiencing poverty.
“We thank our friends in North Dakota for supporting The Salvation Army on Giving Hearts Day,” said Lt. Col. Lonneal Richardson, leader of The Salvation Army Northern Division. “By giving to The Salvation Army, these donors have said, ‘I notice people experiencing poverty in my community, and I want to join the fight for good.’”
