Pray for the Hungry
It’s that time of year again when friends and family come together to celebrate Thanksgiving and the comforts that God has so graciously given to us. And there’s no better feeling than to be surrounded by those you love while sharing a warm meal. But while we are able to enjoy God’s gifts, there are some individuals and families who cannot.
You see, there are people every day who are struggling to make ends meet. Instead of relaxing with loved ones, they’re worried about their finances and if there will be enough money for groceries after paying the bills. And, unfortunately, this isn’t the only hunger people are struggling to overcome. Many are battling against a hunger in their soul that only God’s love can fill.
As we kick off the beginning of a new month, now is a good time to reflect upon our own blessings and remember those who are struggling with these two kinds of hunger. Please join us in praying this month for those who are hungry for God’s love and for those facing food insecurity.
Lord, you are the bread of life. Your word is nourishment to our souls. We thank you for the blessings you have bestowed upon our lives. Today, we pray that those who struggle to put food on their tables find the help and support they need to make it through this time of insecurity. We also pray that they find their spirits filled with the love you have for them. Please place people in their lives to help meet their emotional and physical needs and let your love continue to wash over them. Amen
