‘10,000 Scoops Challenge’ in Minneapolis sets new record
Raising money for The Salvation Army never tasted this good.
On July 17, local TV and radio personalities gave out free Kemps Moose Tracks ice cream in downtown Minneapolis, with the goal of serving 10,000 scoops in just four hours. (View photos.)
They exceeded their goal, serving more than 13,000 scoops. That’s a new record for the Moose Tracks “10,000 Scoop Challenge,” which has visited 40 cities and raised $420,000 for The Salvation Army since its beginning in 2010.
The 10,000 Scoop Challenge was last held in Minneapolis in 2012.
“The Salvation Army is grateful to Kemps and Moose Tracks for hosting this awesome event,” said Lt. Col. Lonneal Richardson, leader of The Salvation Army Northern Division.
Proceeds from the event will be used to provide food, shelter, clothing, and other critical Salvation Army services for Twin Cities families in need.
