Coats for Kids and Families serves extra 600 people
The Fargo Salvation Army is proud to announce that compared to last year, 600 more people received coats and winter gear during this year’s Coats for Kids and Families distribution Oct. 11-16.
The event was held at the Salvation Army Activity Center, 1503 1st. Ave. N., Moorhead, where staff and dozens of volunteers distributed winter gear to community members in need of warm clothing and accessories. Nearly 1,900 coats and more than 3,000 warm winter accessories were given to men, women and children in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Families were also able to sign up to receive Thanksgiving food boxes, which will be distributed Nov. 24.
“We continue to see this community come forward to meet needs,” said Major Byron Medlock, Fargo Salvation Army administrator. “The outpouring of donations of warm winter gear was truly a blessing for so many families. Thank you to everybody who gave to this important drive.”
