Today we shine the spotlight on volunteer Rich Sachse and members of the Riverview Lions Club in Minneapolis for giving countless hours of their time helping The Salvation Army and the people we serve.
We sincerly thank Rich and members of the Riverview Lions Club for supporting The Salvation Army’s mission of providing food, shelter and care for all who come to us in need.
Rich Sachse
Rich Sachse is an outstanding volunteer who brings warmth and dedication to his role as a food stocker and organizer at The Salvation Army in North Minneapolis.
Despite facing personal and mental health challenges, Rich embraces his work and uses it to both enhance his personal well-being and give back to the community.
Originally from Chicago, Rich loves to remind his fellow Minnesotans of his roots – often sharing stories and bringing a little Windy City pride to The Salvation Army. His positive attitude and friendly nature brighten the day of food shelf guests and staff members, making him an invaluable part of the team.
Rain or shine, Rich takes his responsibility seriously and ensures the food shelf is well-stocked and organized. The North Minneapolis Salvation Army is fortunate to have him as a steady, caring presence.
Minneapolis Riverview Lions Club
The Minneapolis Riverview Lions Club has been a steadfast partner in supporting The Salvation Army, with a remarkable 30 years of bell ringing service.
Club members volunteer their time by taking bell ringing shifts throughout the day, ensuring that their Red Kettle is continuously staffed in order to raise the maximum amount of funds – typically around $100 per hour.
In addition, the Riverview Lions Club generously doubles the contributions collected in their kettles, significantly enhancing The Salvation Army’s impact.
Beyond ringing bells, the club’s involvement extends to various initiatives at The Salvation Army in South Minneapolis, where members help with Back to School programs and winter coat distributions, demonstrating their holistic dedication to the community and The Salvation Army’s work.
The Minneapolis Riverview Lions Club’s long-standing commitment to The Salvation Army is an inspiration to many.
Please join The Salvation Army's mission of serving others by giving a donation or signing up to volunteer.
