Radiothon aims to raise $100,000 on July 30
The COVID-19 crisis continues to strain Twin Cities families, many of whom are out of work, low on food, and losing hope.
The Salvation Army and its partners are Here to Help with an exciting fundraiser that will provide much-needed relief. Donate now.
On Thursday, July 30, Salem Media Group-Twin Cities will host a radiothon aimed at raising $100,000 for The Salvation Army’s COVID-19 relief efforts. The event will be broadcast live on The Mission 980 AM and The Patriot 1280 AM from 4–6 p.m. at the East Lake Street Salvation Army in South Minneapolis.
In addition to raising money, the two-hour event will also do good in the community, including:
- Hot meals served from a Salvation Army mobile kitchen
- Free food boxes given away
- Donations of nonperishable foods, hygiene products, and cleaning supplies accepted
This fundraising event was organized and sponsored by Salem and four local businesses that want to help families struggling due to COVID-19. The businesses include lead sponsor Frauenshuh Commercial Real Estate, plus Cherry Creek Mortgage, Legacy Wealth, and a company that asked to remain anonymous.
“We are grateful to these companies and Salem Radio-Twin Cities for coming together to support local families during these difficult times,” said Lt. Col. Dan Jennings, leader of The Salvation Army Northern Division. “Their efforts and the generosity of our donors will help provide food and care to thousands.”
Salem Media Group also includes local radio stations Freedom 1570 AM, Wall Street Business 1440 AM, and The Fish Twin Cities.
