You can help local children succeed by supporting The Salvation Army’s back-to-school drive.
Donations of new backpacks, notebooks, crayons, rulers, and other supplies will be accepted Aug. 1-19 at any Xfinity Store by Comcast location in the Twin Cities metro area. (A complete list of store locations is at bottom.)
You can also help by donating money online or giving supplies at a special pop-up event with KS95 on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. at the Xfinity Store by Comcast in Brooklyn Park, 9660 Colorado Lane.
The Salvation Army will distribute the supplies you donate to children and families in your community.
“With inflation at a 40-year high, many local families do not have enough money to pay for food, gas and housing – let alone school supplies,” said Lt. Col. Dan Jennings, leader of The Salvation Army Northern Division. “Providing school supplies to these families will reduce their stress and allow children to start the school year focused and prepared.”
