Saint Grand strikes again

Added on Wednesday, December 17, 2014

The mysterious donor we affectionately call “Saint Grand” has filled our kettles with $14,000 so far this season. This anonymous donor always folds together ten, crisp $100 bills.

The first gift was a big one – $10,000 in a single kettle on Saturday, Nov. 29 at Lund’s in Bloomington. Another $1,000 was deposited in a kettle at Cub Foods in Arden Hills on Dec. 2.

Two $1,000 donations were left on Dec. 5 – one at Walmart on University in St. Paul, the other at Byerly’s in Roseville. Then, on Dec. 12, another $1,000 packet was found in a kettle at Fleet Farm in Brooklyn Park.

Saint Grand first made a splash in the Twin Cities in 2011, giving $23,000. The following year, he or she donated $18,000. In 2013, the anonymous donor put $16,000 in Salvation Army kettles.

“With just days left in the 2014 Christmas campaign, we are excited to see what else Saint Grand might have in store,” said Major Jeff Strickler, Twin Cities Commander.
