Free donuts on National Donut Day!
Date: Friday, June 7
Time: 7 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Venue: Two locations in Rochester, MN
Help the Rochester Salvation Army celebrate National Donut Day on Friday, June 7 from 7–11 a.m. at Soldier’s Field Veterans Memorial and at the VFW. Free, original-recipe WWI donuts will be served at both locations.
The Salvation Army is credited with popularizing donuts in America soon after WWI (read history). Twenty years later, National Donut Day started with The Salvation Army in Chicago during the Great Depression. Now, we celebrate the holiday every year in remembrance of The Salvation Army’s long history of service to veterans around the world.
Stop by either location to grab your free donut and thank a veteran for their service, or sign up to volunteer and spend an hour or two giving donuts away and sharing the history of The Salvation Army with our community. Happy National Donut Day!
