Help share the warmth in Fargo-Moorhead

Added on Friday, September 7, 2018

The Salvation Army will be collecting coats and warm winter gear for families and individuals in our community beginning on Friday, Sept. 7. The collection will end, Monday, Sept. 17. The Salvation Army encourages donating gently used winter gear to the nearest Hornbacher’s. All sizes are accepted, but we have a great need for children sizes 6 -12 coats, snow pants, boots and gloves. Coats and accessories do not need to be washed, as they will be professionally washed before being given out to families in Oct.

Last year, almost 1,800 coats were given along with over 2,300 warm winter accessories.  Thanks to the generosity of this community, we were able to meet the needs for many in the Fargo/Moorhead area. Unfortunately, there were still several children and adults who did not receive the needed winter gear.

Monetary donations are also accepted to purchase winter gear.  Donations can be sent to 304 Roberts St., Fargo, ND 58102 with Coats for Kids in the memo or give online.

Other participating businesses are KVRR, SCHEELS Corporate office, D and M Industries, Cricket in Moorhead, American Crystal Sugar and Integrity Windows and Doors.

Thank you to our media partner, KVRR for supporting this event.
