Trollhaugen offers discounted lift tickets to coat donors
“Last year, our first year participating, we collected 250 coats,” said John Wright, Trollhaugen Ski Shop Manager. “This year our goal is 1,000 coats.”
Those donating a coat in conjunction with Trollhaugen’s open house on Oct. 6 will receive a coupon for a $10 lift ticket to be used at any time this ski season. All other days, Trollhaugen is giving a coupon for $5 off a regular priced lift ticket in return for each coat donation.
Coats will be accepted at the Trollhaugen Ski Shop from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Oct. 2. After, donations will be accepted during regular store hours through Oct. 20.
“If you give food, you feed someone one meal. If you give them a coat, you keep them warm all winter,” said Wright.
The Salvation Army Coats for Kids program has been keeping Twin Cities kids warm for 28 years. The coat drive runs through Oct. 20, and donations will be distributed at our Salvation Army centers on October 29.
