Watch this video to give a meal

(Watch video) – Did you know that The Salvation Army can stretch your dollar to purchase three times as many meals as you can get at a grocery store? Watch the video below to see what that looks like in terms of actual groceries.

Every view of the short video during March provides a meal to a neighbor in need. We’re calling it the Feed Your Neighbor Challenge – and it’s that simple. When you join in by watching the video below, Lakeland Foundation will donate the cost of a meal for each view, up to $7,000*.  If the challenge is met, we’ll be able to provide 3,911 meals. This challenge comes as part of the statewide Minnesota FoodShare Month campaign (see related story).

Also as part of the campaign, financial donations made to our food programs in March will be proportionally matched by Minnesota FoodShare. Stretch those dollars even further when you give online to support our food programs.

This video shows you what an average of $30 can buy at a grocery store versus what we can get for it through our local food partnerships.

*Meals provided through the Feed Your Neighbor challenge will be given out at our Twin Cities locations.
