When you think of The Salvation Army, you may picture community meals or red kettles. Yet above it all, we are a Christian church. We meet people’s physical needs and heal souls through our spiritual ministry – by sharing the love of Jesus Christ and the promise of salvation. We want to help you explore what it means to have a personal relationship with God.
Whether church is already part of your life or you are experiencing faith for the first time, you are always welcome at any of our Worship and Service Centers in Minnesota and North Dakota. The Salvation Army is a church home to many on Sundays, but we also offer spiritual ministries during the week.
Our spiritual ministries include:
Worship and Service Centers
Our officers are ordained pastors and, in step with our military-style lingo, we call our church members soldiers. Each of our 28 Worship and Service Centers offers a worship service, plus programming for adults and children on Sundays. Contact your local service unit for specific times.
Weekly Ministry Programs
We know Sundays don’t always work, but we want to make sure you have a chance to connect with other believers. Most cities offer programming during the week for people of all ages – from men’s and women’s Bible studies to youth groups and social clubs for seniors.
Our officers can help you work through any season in life – spiritual or emotional. They offer advice based on God’s word and will pray with you for the strength to press on. Whether you are facing the loss of a loved one, working through a struggle in your personal faith or just need some solid advice, don’t hesitate to call.
BOLT (Basics of Life Training) is a long-term program for homeless people who want a new life through Jesus Christ. With their basic needs of food and shelter met, they are immersed in scripture and learning how to become self-sufficient. The BOLT program is offered at our Harbor Light Shelter in Minneapolis.
