Basic Needs & Family Support

Our Correctional Services team refers individuals and families to local Salvation Army service centers for basic needs assistance. Help can be accessed in every county of Minnesota and North Dakota through our 38 service centers.

Available services vary based on location, but may include:

  • Groceries and hot meals
  • Utility assistance
  • Employment referrals
  • Medical assistance
  • Seasonal programs (back-to-school supplies, Christmas gifts for children of the incarcerated, etc.)
  • Support groups for family members

Families may also qualify for help through our Pathway of Hope program that helps families (with children under 18) set and meet goals to achieve long-term financial independence.
