Special Report 2012, Part 5: Youth
Hard work, love, respect – The Salvation Army believes in starting ‘em young.
But teaching children these lifelong values isn’t always easy. The two main reasons: 1. Many of the kids we serve live in homes where love and high standards are absent. 2. Others come from homes where love and good values are abundant, but food, clothing and other basic necessities are not.
These are negative forces that can degrade a child’s self-worth. The consequences are lifelong, influencing every decision or relationship they’ll ever make.
That’s where The Salvation Army comes in. We’re committed to helping children plant strong roots of integrity through our countless youth programs.
Here’s a closer look at the youth services we provide.
