Local Giving Programs

Monetary gifts are a great way to meet the physical and spiritual needs of people who walk in our doors every day. Every dollar that you give stays in your local community, based on your ZIP code.

The Rochester Salvation Army also offers the following local giving programs, creative ways to maximize the impact of your dollar.

Monthly Giving

The Salvation Army’s Bed & Bread Club® is made up of generous people, like you, who have decided to take on hunger and homelessness in their community. Club members give a regular monthly gift of $10 or more that goes to work immediately for the individuals and families we serve (learn more or make a pledge).

Jeans Day Fundraisers

Do you work for a company or organization where business attire is required?  If so, jeans day fundraisers that benefit the Rochester Salvation Army are a great way to boost morale, dress comfortably and help those in need in our community.

If your company already allows you to wear jeans every day, consider wearing red on Fridays to support The Salvation Army, dressing up in different themes on Fridays, or coming up with another way to change clothes and change lives. Please call Anne Bashaw-Meyer at 507-288-3663 for more information and resources to get you started.

Thrivent Choice Dollars

Thrivent Choice is a charitable grant program that allows eligible members to recommend where Thrivent Financial distributes part of its charitable outreach grant funds each year. If you are a Thrivent member, you can now designate your Thrivent Choice dollars to The Salvation Army.

To participate, simply contact your Thrivent representative today, or visit the Thrivent Choice website and search their online catalog for the Rochester Salvation Army.
