Adult Day Program

The Caring Partners Adult Day Program at the Rochester Salvation Army, 115 NE First Ave., is a supportive facility for adults who need specialized care throughout the day.

Program Details

The Caring Partners Adult Day Program is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services to serve guests who are 18 or older. We are open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Attendance varies based on guest needs and center availability.

We also provide caregivers and loved ones with the education and support needed to continue quality care in the home setting.

Nursing and other services 

From skilled nursing care to help with daily activities, we offer a variety of services including:

  • Respite care on an hourly basis, half day or full day
  • Assessment and care plans for each participant
  • Special programming for those with memory loss
  • Vital sign monitoring on a monthly basis
  • Transportation to and from home to our facilities
  • Nutritious noon meal and two snacks provided daily
  • Art and pet therapy to enrich lives
  • Personal spa services, including showers or baths, shampoo and styling, and nail care
  • Participant’s “Bill of Rights” shared and followed by staff
  • Grievance care
  • Social service assistance and referrals to community agencies
  • Weekly worship services, Bible study and spiritual counseling
  • Intergenerational programming from visiting students (preschoolers through high school)
  • Numerous individual and group activities
  • Activity goal-setting and evaluation
  • Regular outings to museums, restaurants or shopping
  • Caregiver education and support workshops

Program Costs and Benefits

There is a daily program fee which includes meals and snacks, nursing services, therapeutic recreational programming and social service assistance. Transportation and spa services are available for additional charges. We accept private pay, waivers, long-term care insurance, Veterans Administration Geriatrics, and Extended Care benefits.

Staffing

The Caring Partners Adult Day Program is staffed on a ratio of one employee to every five program participants. We have a registered dietitian who plans for regular and special diets, an activity coordinator, and a physical therapy consultant who reviews daily range of motion exercises. Other staff include a licensed TMA, LPN, NP, and Medical Director Dr. Robert Stroebel.

We seek to increase the quality of life for adults physically and mentally challenged through a supportive day program, promoting independence and empowering each individual to remain in a community setting.

Caregiver Connections Expo

The Salvation Army Caring Partners Adult Day Program works with Family Service Rochester and Elder Network to put on the Caregiver Connections Expo for area caregivers. This free event is held to provide care partners and their families with resources and networking.
