Low-cost camp provides fun, adventure up north
Imagine giving your kids the gift of a summer camp experience in the beautiful woods near Finlayson, Minn. – all for just $25.
The Salvation Army’s Northwoods Camp on Elbow Lake is now to open the public, providing kids (who have completed first grade through 17 years old), with a chance to enjoy activities from swimming, boating and fishing, to a high ropes course, archery and sports.
With meals, snacks, campfires and classes like music education, team building, art and nature study available, it’s an affordable opportunity for children to escape the city, enjoy fellowship and learn about God, too.
“The Salvation Army believes camp is a great place to help kids develop physically, socially and spiritually,” said Lt. Col. Patty Richardson, who runs the Northwoods Camp. “They have a chance to have fun, grow in their faith and learn to get along with others and be more independent.”
