The MOST Amazing Race
Date: Saturday, July 26
Time: 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Venue: Challenge locations across Minneapolis
The Salvation Army’s 9th annual MOST Amazing Race presented by CenterPoint Energy will be on Saturday, July 26. The race is similar to the TV show, except in this one teams of two complete challenges - physical, mental, tedious, eating, problem solving, etc. – across Minneapolis and the winners take home a $5,000 grand prize.
Teams of two register online and must raise a minimum of $200 to participate in a qualifying event held the morning of the race. The top 20 qualifiers, and the 10 top fundraising teams that automatically qualify, move on to the main race that afternoon to compete for the cash prize. Teams start and finish the race at the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis and navigate between challenges riding MetroTransit or on foot.
Over the past eight years, the race has raised over $440,000 for The Salvation Army’s food and housing programs in the Twin Cities.
The MOST Amazing Race is an official event of the 75th Anniversary Minneapolis Aquatennial. Additional sponsors include Metro Transit, Polaris and Mattress Firm. Media partners include KFAN, KOOL 108 and KDWB.
