Ongoing Opportunities

  • Serve a community meal
  • Train to be an emergency disaster services volunteer

Seasonal Summer Meal Program

We need an army of volunteers to help provide hot, nutritious meals for children as part of the Mobile Outreach Meals (M.O.M.) program. Volunteers are needed weekdays during the summer months at three different Fargo parks. Work with Salvation Army staff to set up, serve the meal and clean up. Interact with the children during the mealtime, with the option to stay after meal service to provide activities, such as teaching a sport, a craft, or playing an organized game.

The time commitment is one hour for meal service and two hours if staying for the activity. Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and are required to pass a background check. To sign up, call Julie Rivenes at 701-356-2688.

Bell Ringing

The easiest way to help from November through Christmas Eve is to ring a bell at one of our iconic red kettles, raising the funds that change lives all year long. Volunteers are the difference between an empty kettle and one that raises about $30 per hour – enough to provide a family with two bags of groceries. Shifts are two and a half hours each. Sign up online for a bell ringing shift.

Don’t see an opportunity here for you? Call us. We’ll find a place for anyone who wants to help.
