Summer Day Camp

Looking for a program that will keep your child engaged and active during the summer? Our summer day camp is a great alternative to traditional child care options. Daily activities include crafts, games, music, Bible lessons and other outdoor activities. Plus, we take the kids on field trips, offer learning opportunities, swimming and more.

Details and Hours

The Austin Salvation Army summer day camp program is a licensed child care provider through the Minnesota Department of Human Services. We provide care for children who have finished kindergarten up to age 12. The program runs from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. each weekday from  June 19 through August 25. Drop off at 7:30 a.m. is also available for an extra charge.

Tuition Rates

We offer daily drop in rates, as well as weekly rates and discounts for additional children in the same family.  Tuition rates cover the cost for meals and field trips, and are as follows:

  • Registration fee: $25 per family before May 22 and $50 per family afterwards
  • Weekly rates:
    • 1st Child: $50
    • 2nd Child: $30 additional
    • 3rd Child (and subsequent): $15 per additional child

Scholarships are available for qualifying lower income families. Call 507-437-4566 for details.

Hot Meal Program

Our day camp serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack every day.  All meals meet the nutritional guidelines outlined by the USDA Child Nutrition Program and are included in the regular tuition.

Enrollment

All applicants will be required to complete and return a sign up form with the registration fee to: The Salvation Army, 409 First Ave. NE, Austin, MN 55912. Call 507-437-4566 to request a form today.

Applicants are then contacted when their child has been enrolled in the program (based on space availability) and asked to complete the official enrollment packet.
