Coats for Kids

The Salvation Army Coats for Kids program has been keeping Twin Cities children warm for 30 years. The 2015 coat drive is Oct. 5 – 18, but you can help right now when you give online to buy new coats. A donation of just $15 helps buy a winter coat for a kid in need.

During our coat drive in October, collection bins for gently-used coats and winter gear will be available at all metro area Cub Foods and Kowalski’s Markets. You can also drop off coats a Salvation Army Worship & Service Center.

Thank you to our 2015 partners: Alerus Mortgage, Cub Foods, Kowalski’s Markets and 5 Eyewitness News.

Host a Coat Drive

Are you part of a local businesses, civic organization or church group interested in organizing a coat drive?

We have electronic copies of Coats for Kids posters you can use to advertise your collection, and we are happy to arrange pick up for drives that bring in more than 100 coats. For smaller collections, we ask that donations be dropped off at our divisional headquarters, 2445 Prior Ave. N. in Roseville, Minn.

Please contact Twin Cities Coats for Kids manager Krystle Englund at 651-746-3591 for details on getting started with a drive.

About Coats for Kids

The Salvation Army Coats for Kids program has been keeping Twin Cities children warm for 30 years. In that time, donors have provided nearly 325,000 coats and winter accessories to local families in need. The annual Twin Cities coat drive is held in early October. After donations of new and gently-used coats are collected, families are invited to our centers to select items to help keep their children warm through the winter.
