Roseville, Minn. – The Twin Cities Salvation Army officially kicks off the bell ringing season on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. with the Big Brass Blast in the Rotunda at Mall of America®. The free event, in partnership with the North American Brass Band Association, will feature brass musicians from around the country performing traditional Christmas songs.  They will also play original Christmas music arranged by internationally-renowned composer, Stephen Bulla.

Brass musicians age 16 and up are encouraged to sign up and participate. Dave Ryan from KDWB and his band, Dat Brass Doe, will also join the group performance.

Musicians will receive coupon books from MOA, along with free rides for the rest of the evening at Nickelodeon Universe.

The public is invited to gather in the Rotunda to enjoy the music and celebrate the start of the season.

Red kettles will be in the Rotunda that evening. On Saturday, Nov. 18, the kettles will spread to every entrance at MOA and all Cub locations in the Twin Cities. After Thanksgiving, kettles will blanket the Twin Cities at 500 sites in the metro area.

Everyone is invited to sign up as a volunteer bell ringer from Nov. 18 through Dec. 23, by registering online or by calling 651-746-3519.

Please join The Salvation Army by signing up as a volunteer bell ringer or by making a donation to support your local community.
