Rock the Red Kettle Run hits streets Saturday

Added on Monday, December 24, 2012

Start working on your New Year’s resolutions early at the Rock the Red Kettle Run. Runners of all ages will hit the streets of Grand Rapids Saturday, Dec. 29 for the first-time event. The family-friendly 5K route is designed for runners and walkers of all levels, and pets are welcome.

Participants are asked to make a free will donation of $10 or more, in lieu of a standard registration fee. This event is an easy way to support basic needs for local residents – all proceeds will be used to provide a warm bed, a meal, a little compassion or a second chance for someone in need.

The streets will be lined with bell ringers to guide runners on the path, and participants are encouraged to bring their own bells to join in the fun.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the IRA Civic Center, and the race begins at 10 a.m. Food, beverages and prizes will be given away. For more information, email Keri Riehle or call 218-256-6822.
